Wildlife Heroes
Foundation - Year 2
For foundation to Year 2 students at Gumbuya World, they will have the unique opportunity to become the next generation of Wildlife Superheroes! The Gumbuya Wildlife Heroes program has been built from the ground up to foster both a love of wildlife, as well as the desire to want to protect them.
Your students will learn about multiple different topics directly linked to the current Victorian curriculum, including the life cycles of some of our native Australian animals, habitats, adaptations and so much more! They will be immersed in a combination of high retention practical activities focusing on their respective Victorian curriculum strands, as well as up close and personal animal interactions that may include frogs, lizards, snakes, some of our amazing birds, Koalas and the list goes on.
Students will be guided throughout their program experience by some of our incredible Zookeepers, where they will learn to care for animals in a fun-filled, interactive educational day!
Learning Outcomes
Within their respective Curriculum strands, students will understand how they play a vital role in the protection of some of our unique Australian animals. Students will meet animals from a variety of habitats, and they will also have the opportunity to develop their understanding of the different life cycles that some of our wildlife may have. Students will be directed by qualified zookeepers, who will create an engaging and exciting environment where students are encouraged to ask questions to further develop their problem-solving skills to become part of the next generation of Wildlife Super Heroes!
